Making Money Online - Never Give Up: Part 2

Published by mythicalphoenix at 11:16 am under Setting Goals, work from home Edit This

For those who are completely frustrated with using the Internet as a medium to earn extra income, I have one huge piece of advice….never give up! I admit I was part of the “I give up” club for several months.  I could blame it on the holiday, which is a complete cop-out.  The real reason is that I was not seeing any earnings that were close to the amount of work I was putting in.  Earnings were sporadic, and if I wanted to earn “real” money I had to perpetually post on Associated Content which was draining after a while.  But this was due to me ignoring the cardinal rule of Internet marketing and money making: Focus on growing a passive income and building affiliate links.

And then to make things more interesting, I ignored a common fact that was stated among the legitimate websites: It will take at least 6 months before you earn money. This is mainly because of the way search engines index your site or postings, or whatever else you are working on.  I had the high hope I would earn real money right away…and I am not discouraging others from having that hope, but know and accept what the reality really is.

My goal for January is higher than others I have set.  I want to earn an extra $100 online through my blog, Cafepress, and my other endeavors such as Helium, eHow, and Associated Content (maybe - I am just burned out on them), and through affiliate links.  Can I do it?  Who knows, but its worth a shot!

Why don’t you set a goal too?  It’s okay if you don’t make it, you will learn from your mistakes (like I did)…and if you do make your goal, buy yourself something to treat yourself for all your hard work!
